Phuket's Most Popular Beaches

Thailand needs no introduction like a holiday destination. It is a tourism mecca luring approximately 20 000 000 visitors every year to different parts of the country. The south of Thailand especially Phuket plays host to a lot more than 7 000 000 of these. The warm tropical weather, an amiable culture, captivating exotic scenery and mile upon mile of sun drenched beaches lined with palms all conspired to make Phuket an unrivaled beach holiday destination.

These very facts also produce a slight conundrum. Phuket comprises a lot more than 500 square kilometers. Obviously the choice of beaches, bays and small coves where one can book accommodation is vast. Where on this huge island would you book your hotel? Do you want things active and vibrant or quiet and secluded? Do you'll need a family friendly location or something romantic? Not familiar with the different locations and beaches often see you end up booking your valuable holiday period in an area not quite ideal for your unique requirements. Choosing the right location that will best match your idea of a Phuket Thailand Vacation starts with choosing a beach, a hotel.

Bangtao Beach

Just beneath or to the south of Nai Yang is Bangtao Beach, Phuket’s second longest at 8 kilometers. This really is still a fairly relaxed area, although not entirely as secluded because the beaches mentioned above. It is near to a charming little village as well as not far from Thailand’s own Disneyland known as the Phuket Fantasea, a fantastic family entertainment venue. The region in general is great for families and limited water sport activity on area of the beach is available.

What makes this a tempting option for families are the resorts themselves found across the beach. The northern end from the beach features the Laguna Resort Complex featuring its a cluster of six resorts connected by water ways and encompassed by placid lagoons. The complex includes this type of vast array of recreational facilities for adults and children that you almost don’t need go elsewhere on the island.

Karon beach

Karon beach may be the second largest beach of Phuket. It's one of the best tourist beaches in Phuket with simply two rows of sun beds, so it’s not deep, but it's one of the longest beaches around the island. This beach isn't as crowded as Patong beach. Luxury resorts and hotels are just a few steps from the beach.

Patong

This is the centre of activity in Phuket. During the day lots of water sports are available from jet skiing to parasailing and wind surfing. Directly behind the beach, Patong is alive with individuals meandering through the narrow, winding roads. The amount of restaurants, bars, shops and financial markets are incalculable. Street vendors sell anything imaginable and the nightlife is electrifying. If you want things to be lively this is where you should go. The down side to this? Depending where in Patong you stay things may well be a little too touristy, busy, too commercially developed and noisy.

Kamala Beach

Since Kamala Beach is simply next door to Patong, it’s not surprising that it’s physically much like it -- it’s in a large, pretty bay and it has warm water and white sand, also it faces west so there are wonderful sunsets to be witnessed. Kamala, however, is nowhere close to crowded as Patong and doesn’t have a similar reputation as a party beach. Hotels are usually a little more upscale and family oriented. Just a little farther away from the beach is Kamala Village, that has more inexpensive accommodation options.

Surin Beach

Northern Phuket’s most widely used beach is Surin Beach, which to date retains a relaxed, warm and friendly atmosphere despite the non-stop development happening on the island. Though this small beach far less crowded and developed compared to best beaches in Phuket, Surin includes a good selection of mostly more advanced restaurants and hotels, including hipster favorite Twin Palms. At night there are bars and even a jazz club that open directly on the beach. Shopping along with other nightlife options are more limited on Surin, even though there is a small selection of shops and boutiques.
